The Future is Looking Bigger and Brighter, Deep in the Heart of Texas

Updated: Dec 30, 2021

Parting words for the 2021 Season...

"A year filled with great growth for all! To the players, thank you for the positive attitudes and for grinding out a very challenging season between College and Club. You're hard work is building a brighter future! To the staff thank you for doing so much to push us towards new horizons.

As we end the 2021 year the contributions and scarifies we have made over the last 4 years are finally taking shape. It was announced in the fall, that the club would be traveling to over seas to take on European clubs as a way to test the players against some of the best in the world, and make a claim to join the new USL Super League. This wouldn't be possible without all of you and your hard work especially through this pandemic. While this is is great news it is only a milestone in our great story and so the marathon continues... Stay Blessed and Happy New Year!"

Our former goalkeeper and Co-Captain, Eveljn Frigotto who signed for Italian Serie A team Empoli this summer said " We want to be seen as an important club in Women's football and so it's important to show the world what we have to offer. Our coach works tirelessly for us to have the opportunities we've had so far and it is because of his and all of our sacrifices that so much good has happened so fast"

The Future Is Now

Batco FC have strictly been a professional development team so the club doesn't have a youth academy. Instead, the club focuses on mentorship and creating opportunities for local young girls to be trained by some or the best players walking the path to their dreams.

Though the pandemic has slowed us down it as not stopped the club. Batco FC teamed up with a local youth club last summer to impact our community and the results were fantastic!

Olga Massombo another Co-Captain who is currently back in Canada had this to say,

"Last summer, we had an opportunity to train with some great female athletes at Fierce United . The young girls have so much love and passion for the beautiful game of soccer. As a college player, it was an honor to work with the younger footballers that are inspired to play D1 soccer. The training was excellent and was filled with great ambiance. At the end, we gave the girls some advice and we spoke about our experiences. Our goal is to always grow women football and we do this by helping young girls fulfill their dreams and giving back to the next generation of footballers."

Bat Country FC would like to thank everyone again for your support this year and we hope to see you in 2022 when we win the Southwest Conference!

The future of Bat Country is looking big and bright, deep in the heart of Texas!!!
